Pencil Books Join the beta

Privacy

Your details, and this website

Draft for review before launch. Pencil Books is responsible for what is described here, under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we keep

Only what you type into the beta form: your name, business, email address, phone number if you give it, what you use now, the number of employees if you give it, and your message. We also keep the sentence you agreed to and when.

Why

To contact you about the beta and the launch of Pencil Books. Nothing else: we do not sell or share your details, add you to anyone else's list, or use them for advertising.

Where, and for how long

On our own server in South Africa, seen only by the Pencil Books team. We keep a sign-up until you ask us to delete it, or until it is no longer needed after the launch, whichever comes first.

What this website does not do

  • No cookies, no tracking and no advertising scripts.
  • No third-party fonts or analytics: everything on the page comes from our own server.
  • Our server's ordinary logs (addresses and pages asked for) are kept for a short time to keep it safe, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time: write to support@pencilbooks.co.za. If you are not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).

The software itself

Pencil Books keeps your company's books on your own computer, not with us. What the program sends us (error reports with names and amounts removed, and notes you choose to send) is described in its own privacy notice.
